This is the cover of The Mixed, the real history of earth’s monsters.

If you are new to this comic (and you should be new, unless you’ve been sneaking into my back yard and peeping through my window to watch me…) then you won’t know the basic story behind this. I won’t ruin anything for you, but I’ll tell you this. What you think you know about our monsters and mythological creatures isn’t accurate. Mermaids, centaurs, werewolves… all have a common history and they were created for a reason. If you stick around and read this comic, you’ll find out what it is.

About the Cover

I tried to incorporate all the major elements of the story into the cover here… One thing I’m not sure about right now though is that there is only one character on the cover. The story has many characters… Anywho, I may or may not do a few more versions before this thing is done. You’ll notice that there is a giant bug front and center. This is our main character, Marty. There are also locations shown that represent significant locations and plot points. The city, water, meso-american temple, forest and some odd glowing eggs… I like the look of this, but we’ll see if I don’t redo it with some more of the main characters. Ultimately though, this is Marty’s story.

About the Story

You should note that he is not a werewolf or a vampire, he is a bug. I have no intention of jumping onto the bandwagon of sexy vampires/werewolves/zombies… I’m hoping that you guys can relate to this character even though he is a little bit like a cockroach.

I believe good writing and story is what draws people in. Just like any good sci-fi or fantasy story, each character and plot point is crafted to serve the story. The story in this case is a theme that all of us face. I won’t give it away now, but hopefully, if I’ve done my job correctly, it will be revealed as the story unfolds.
